"South of Center Star are the communities of Big Oak, Houstontown, and Bellview.  Josiah D. Fuller was at Big Oak in 1818.  William Patton, who owned island property south of Rogersville, was at Big Oak during the same period.  A partnership, Sam Hazard and Charles N. Baucher (or Parker), made purchases here in 1818."
