I found My great-great grandfather, Elijah Burns (born abt 1822 in South Carolina) , on 1850 Lauderdale, Alabama census. It lists his wife, Elizabeth (born in Virginia 1825-26); their first child, Robert Burns was born in 1847; I have searched for marriage verification to determine Elizabeth's maiden name, but cannot find it anywhere; I have found his "Burns" spelled many ways but all other info matched; Any information on Elijah and Elizabeth Burns would be so very helpful.
